  • How long does therapy last?

Therapy usually begins with weekly sessions. As progress is made and symptoms improve, sessions often move to every other week. The goal of therapy is for clients to become their own therapists. They’ll be able to recognize patterns, manage symptoms, and use coping skills independently. As that happens, sessions naturally taper off until they’re no longer needed. I sometimes joke that my lack of job security is a good thing, because it means people are ready to move forward with confidence on their own.

  • Do you offer family therapy?

When I work with children and teenagers, family involvement is a natural part of treatment. Sessions often include discussion of rules, boundaries, and risk, and I regularly meet with parents to support family engagement.

  • Are there clients you do not see for therapy?

Yes. I do not provide couples counseling, and I do not treat active substance abuse or acute psychiatric crises. My focus is on therapy for older children, adolescents, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, life transitions, and related concerns. If your needs fall outside my scope of practice, I will be glad to provide referrals to trusted providers who specialize in those areas.
